On 13th and 14th September 2023, the Faculty of Business Economics at the University of Economics in Bratislava in Košice facilitated a significant meeting for the EXPERTISE project. This collaboration involved representatives from renowned institutions: Technische Universität Dortmund, University of Twente, University of Economics in Bratislava, and Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology LUT.
Our primary focus was advancing tools and methodologies for Silverworkers in Purchasing & Supply Management. The discussions centered around literature review findings, expert interview techniques, and the identification of skill recognition tools. An essential insight: Despite the current training emphasis on the younger workforce, there’s an urgent need for bespoke strategies for all ages, accentuating the Silverworker demographic.
Our exploration unveiled a variety of modern tools and approaches for training, emphasizing both digital and face-to-face methods. The future is promising, with a surge in emphasis on skill assessment and development. More updates to follow.
